John Leonard was serving as a missionary in inner city Brazil when the unthikable happened: a local gang threatened by his ministry put out a hit on him. As he was leaving church one sunday, a group of armed men drove by and shot John many times. Fortunately, he survived. Unfortunately, he was left permanently paralized. After Brother Leonard's recovery, he and his wife Bev returned to Brazil and he continues to minister in a power chair. God is multiplying their ministry despite his handicap and they are still very active in God's service.
